A swing sat alone in a secluded part of the forest surrounding the village, hidden in the leaves.  The girl resting on the swing sighed; her black-blue hair shifted as the wind blew through it. She had ventured out in hopes of getting away from the stresses of her clan life. The thought of returning to it almost made her choke from anguish.  Surely father would understand if I tell him what I feel. That thought made her chuckle despairingly.

Blocking out those thoughts, she began picking up her momentum on the swing; exhilaration and adrenaline was all she noticed as the air flowed around her usually covered skin, for she had shed her usual thick jacket for her favorite purple tank top. Getting further into the air, her forehead protector began to bounce around her neck. She laughed out loud and had to restrain herself from yelling with glee. Experiencing such childish delights in these war-torn days was rare and she made an effort to enjoy them when she can.

Unknown to the kunoichi, a passerby happened to hear her laughter and went to investigate. His golden and unruly locks stood out painfully amongst the foliage like a sore thumb--it's a miracle that he's survived as a ninja his long--as did his obnoxiously, bright, orange jacket. Bright blue eyes gazeded at the swinging girl with curiosity; she didn't look familiar to him. Then he noticed the discarded jacket on the ground. People have called him a "baka" and "dense" before, and he
usually was, but today things seemed to click as he recognized the jacket.

Hinata's movement started to lessen, and gradually she began to slow to a stop. Before she came to a complete halt, she suddenly slammed into something behind her. It let out an 'Oof!' and she saw tan hands grabbed the ropes above her head. Surprised, she whipped around, only to have hands pull her back and started to push her. Slowly, higher and higher again, and each time
backwards, hands pushing her lower back. After what seemed like forever, the pair of hands stopped pushing, and she slowed down again. The object came to a slow swing, and Hinata put her feet down, dragging them to a stop. Slowly standing up, head and eyes turned down in embarrassment of being found out, she turned around.

"Naruto-kun..?" she said. Gone was her stutter, as she had become more confident over the years; though her cheeks flushed a bit, she did not faint in the presence of her long-time crush. Don't faint, don't faint, don't faint!

"H-Hi Hinata-chan." When did she get this…cute? Then came his trade-mark grin as he rubbed the back of his head. Why and I stuttering?! "What are you doing out here?"

"Oh, um, just getting away from, you know…everyone. Relaxing, I guess…" came the mumbled response.

"Oh...well…uhm…"

They were at a loss for words.

As if to break the awkward silence, a sound emitted from both their stomachs and they smiled.

"You wanna go get some ramen? My treat?"

"Sure, I'd love to."
